Rest in the Carpathians is a place where there is no seasonality. Each season is unique and has its own features for recreation. Some tourists prefer a more active holiday with winter entertainment, others come to enjoy the summer coolness, and “quiet” hunters like the golden season, when the mountain forests are teeming with a variety of mushrooms, herbs and berries.

Restaurants in Bukovel are most often found on the ski slopes or on hotel grounds. A prestigious Bukovel venue is the Mont Blanc restaurant in the Radisson hotel. The hotel’s feature is that breakfasts are served buffet-style. It offers both European dishes and dishes of national Ukrainian cuisine. All products are sourced from a local farm.
Bukovel’s restaurant network includes more than 30 popular establishments. The most visited is “Hrybova Khata”. It is a mini-hotel whose grounds include a restaurant with a colourful design and delicious Hutsul dishes. A feature of this establishment is the presentation of the dishes and the atmosphere of Hutsul culture.
Autumn in Bukovel.
Autumn enchants every tourist with its variety and burst of colours. In addition to active recreation, the autumn mountains open up many opportunities for spiritual rest.
Scenery and photo tours.

When the summer heat subsides and the cold rainy days have not yet covered the sky, feel free to set off on hikes. Discover new routes for yourself. For a calmer holiday, go on a quiet hunt. It is at the beginning of autumn that there is a variety of mushrooms, berries and abundant herbs.
After climbing a little into the mountains, regardless of the route, enchanting views open up. In the Bukovel complex, after taking the lift, you can spend hours admiring the autumn scenery of Mount Hoverla. The viewing platform has special sun loungers and a cafe for the convenience of visitors. Be sure not to forget to take a camera or video camera with you. Such beauty should remain on film and warm you with memories. For those who want brighter photo memories, photo tours are organized. True photo travellers simply must visit such a beautiful corner of our Motherland. A photo tour to the Carpathians is suitable for both beginners and experienced photographers. Everyone will gain not only useful and new knowledge, but the unique shooting conditions will allow them to take outstanding photos.
Wellness and spa.
On cold autumn days, we recommend visiting the “Voda Club” leisure complex.
It is located on the shore of the lake and has many entertainment options for both adults and children. It has plenty of sun loungers for relaxation, bungalows, a year-round heated pool, an outdoor heated pool, an open-air jacuzzi, an inflatable water park and a children’s recreation area. The unique location among the mountains makes this place incredible and energizing. On the second floor there are massage rooms, spa treatments and a gym.
There are also other hotels on the territory of Bukovel that have their own outdoor pools with an incredible view of the mountains, such as “Buka hotel&spa”, “Twins hotel&spa” and others.
Gastronomic events.
Foodpark in the Bukovel complex has about 30 restaurant complexes. For those who appreciate everything from Asian to national cuisine. Each place is unique and reveals the character of different countries’ cuisines. For example, to discover the gastronomic traditions of the Mediterranean, we recommend visiting Bigul cafe. At an affordable price, try Italian cuisine. On weekends, some of the restaurants hold various events. They offer tastings of different kinds of dishes.
Cultural and sporting events.
Mass physical and sporting events hold an important place in the system for organizing a healthy lifestyle for the population of Ukraine. They are a way of involving broad sections of the population in physical culture and sport, rehabilitation of the body, improving physical fitness, and developing the necessary movement skills and abilities, and they help increase motivation for physical culture and sport. In the Bukovel complex, football pitches, volleyball courts and basketball courts are available for holidaymakers. There is also a tennis court. In autumn, there is an opportunity to train on the summer open-air ground. Necessary equipment is available for rent.
Winter in Bukovel.

Winter Bukovel attracts every tourist with its beauty. Snow-covered vast forests, mountain peaks shining in the sun under snow, the noisy stream of a mountain river — what could be more enchanting?
Ski and snowboard slopes.
For active holidaymakers, the complex offers ski slopes of varying difficulty. They are located on specially prepared mountain slopes. The total number of slopes is about 62. Of these, there are 8 slopes for professional riding, 42 medium ones and 12 for beginners. For beginners, the slopes start near the foot of Mount Chorna Kleva and Bukovel. The longest descent is about 2 000 meters long. All descents are connected by lifts. A single ticket is required for them. It is also possible to buy one for several days. Today, the complex has 16 lifts. They are all numbered for easy searching.
The Bukovel complex has a ski and snowboard school. After taking a couple of lessons from professionals, you will easily be able to tackle the first easy slopes. It is not necessary to have your own equipment. There are many rental points on the territory, where you can choose what suits your needs at a moderate price.
Only in Bukovel was the first Snow park complex opened. It features many jumps and rails for professional snowboarders. Together with an American expert, many features were created. They are aimed at more experienced visitors. For beginners, there are easier routes without obstacles.
Winter excursions.
If skiing has already become tiresome and you want a break from the noisy resort, we suggest visiting the beauty of the winter Ice land hotel. It is completely built of ice. The temperature reaches -5 degrees Celsius. It has a bar and rooms where tourists sometimes stay. From Bukovel, you can book or arrange on your own an excursion to any tourist spot in the Carpathians. The Hook Waterfall enchants with its icy blocks of water. Or visit Hutsul master classes in Verkhovyna. For a more extreme kind of recreation, we recommend riding quad bikes across the snow-covered highland meadows. Or go on a snowmobile trip.
And to see all the views of the snow-covered Carpathians, choose a trip on a groomer. This is special transport that will take you to the most remote corners of the mountain massif, where it is impossible to get with the help of lifts or cable cars.
New Year holidays.

New Year holidays in the Bukovel complex are a separate kind of recreation for the whole family. You will immerse yourself in the traditions of Hutsul history and get a lot of enjoyment. You can stay either in a hotel or rent accommodation in private households. But plan ahead. Closer to the holidays, it will be harder to find a place and the price will be much higher. Every hotel or complex offers visitors a program for each holiday. Each one is individual and unique. But it will leave a significant mark on every holidaymaker. On the territory of the complex, horse riding, sledding, various contests and games are offered.
Hotel relaxation and saunas.
In many hotel complexes, spa treatments and pools are included in the room rate in winter. For comfortable accommodation, options range from private guesthouses to hotel complexes. Pricing starts at five hundred hryvnias per night.
We would especially like to highlight recreation in winter vats. In recent years, vats with open pools in winter have become very popular. And it is no surprise. After all, you can feel the benefits of this procedure from the very first time. The sharp contrast between air temperature and the water in the vat has an immune-strengthening, invigorating and positively dynamic effect on the human body. The bathing process itself takes place in fresh frosty air. So a sea of positive emotions and magical surrounding scenery are guaranteed.
Spring in Bukovel
When the high winter season ends and all active tourists leave, quiet spring rest begins. Prices become much lower, but winter sports and recreation remain available.
Spring forest and nature.
One of the main reasons to visit the spring Carpathians is the unique plants and nature. For example, saffron that blooms in a bright purple color and carpets all the highland meadows and mountain ranges. It looks amazing. And what about the Valley of Daffodils? Amazing flowers that bloom in early May.
A walk through a spring forest is a special kind of pleasure. For tourists who enjoy “quiet hunting,” there are many routes. At this time, nature awakens, and with it the forest mushrooms and berries. The spring forest is filled with an abundance of colors in every shade of green.
Outdoor recreation.
A great idea for a spring holiday for active tourists. Spring mountain air has the best effect on your body after wintering. For example, on the cardiovascular system, it helps the brain work better, relieves stress, and treats anxiety disorders. Recreation in the fresh air in the Carpathians can help boost the body's immunity and reduce the risk of various diseases.
Here are a few ideas for active spring recreation:
- Cycling. In the Bukovel complex and the surrounding villages, there are many routes for both beginners and professionals. The more difficult bike trails have a higher level of difficulty and elevation gain, as well as usually some obstacles on the road, for a more extreme ride. Spring is the best time of year for such rides. After all, the sun is not yet scorching, and it is comfortable to ride along winding paths.
- Hiking trails. Spring is the most attractive time of year for a tourist. Hikes to the pastures, where spring primroses bloom abundantly. Ascents to snowy mountain trails. And what is the air like there? It gives even more strength and energy.
- Visiting historical landmarks and culture. Around Bukovel there are towns and villages with many historical sites. For example: the Viaduct bridges, the Museum of Ukrainian Antiquities, old churches and chapels, waterfalls, mountain rivers on which you can go rafting, cheese dairies, rocks, and trails.
- Rafting. For lovers of extreme recreation, we recommend going on a rafting tour. This is a type of descent on mountain rivers, during which travelers use rafts (special inflatable boats). It is designed for a group that descends the mountain river channel as a team. Usually, the popular river is the Chornyi Cheremosh.
Gastronomic tours.
In spring, gastronomic tours begin in the Carpathians. They are designed for any age and price range. These are cheese tours, tours to the pasture, where you can taste and buy various cheeses, and on the mountain pastures — berries from which wine is made.
Hutsul brynza is like a symbol of the Carpathians. It is bought as a gift, for home, or frozen for later use. In the past, there were entire festivals where certain dishes were made from different kinds of cheese and people competed for first place. At present, there are none.
Visiting local attractions.
In Bukovel, you can also visit historical sites and walk among notable natural formations. Near the resort is the restaurant-museum “Hutsulshchyna”. The building was made without a single nail. The character of this place lies in the presentation of dishes, the tableware, the decor, and the interior finishes.
Also nearby are the “Probii” and “Huk” waterfalls. These giants of a massive water flow will leave no one indifferent. The area around the waterfalls is ecologically clean and has places for relaxation.
The Veden Church is a picturesque historic church in the village of Polianytsia. It was built at the beginning of the 19th century. Nearby are the graves of soldiers who died in World War I. You can book a tour to visit this place.
