What Makes Ukraine Beautiful?

Dreaming of a good holiday, we often think of Instagram photos of the Maldives coastline, the unique Eiffel Tower in Paris, or the picturesque mountain landscapes of Switzerland. But not all Ukrainians realize that there are equally interesting and beautiful places in Ukraine as well. So what makes our remarkable Ukraine so appealing, what places and landscapes can evoke surprise and joy that we live on Ukrainian land?

Flower valleys

It is no secret that the land of tulips is Holland, but in Ukraine there are no less blooming places:

• The Valley of Daffodils in Khust. In the Transcarpathian town of Khust, from 1 to 20 May, one of the protected areas turns into a snow-white blanket of flowers.

• Sofiivka Park in Uman is filled with the scent of roses every year. In early summer, about 5000 rose bushes bloom here.
• “Lavender Grove” in the village of Poradivka, Vasylkiv District, will give you the chance to take unique Provence-style photos in a lilac field of lavender.
• “Ukrainian Holland” is the name of the arboretum in Kropyvnytskyi, which is covered with carpets of flowers from mid-April. Daffodils, tulips, hyacinths, muscari — a variety of flowers that create enchanting compositions.
• “Mini-Holland” is the name given to the tulip field in Kherson region, near the settlement of Lyubymivka. The field grows larger every year. So do not miss the chance to see the vibrant colors of spring flowers that bloom from the second half of April.

Ancient castles and palaces

In Ukraine there are not only impressive modern buildings, villages with thatched roofs, but also amazing castles of past centuries:

• Olesk Castle in Lviv region;
• Kamianets-Podilskyi Fortress-Castle in the city of the same name;
• Popov Castle (Tavrian Estate) in Zaporizhzhia region;
• Radomysl Castle in Zhytomyr region;
• Liubart's Castle in Lutsk;
• Richard's Castle in Kyiv.

When you enter such castles, you involuntarily feel like a witness to medieval times, imagining yourself somewhere on the outskirts of old England.

Ukraine — a kaleidoscope of the world

In our beautiful Ukraine there are many wonderful places, which resemble foreign corners:

• Lake Synevyr captivates with its mirror-like surface; it is often compared to Alpine lakes surrounded by mountains and tall trees.
• Uzhhorod’s spring streets will remind you of a corner of Japan, where in spring the streets are filled with the lush blossom of sakura.
• Yushkova Yama in Lviv region, formed by a rock complex, is just as captivating to the eye as Trolltunga, the rocky outcrop on Mount Skjeggedal.
• The town of Zalishchyky in Ternopil region is famous for its island-like location. The Dnister River flows around the town, giving it a resemblance to Germany.
• Plebanivka Viaduct is one of the most beautiful architectural landmarks, recalling the Scottish viaduct used for filming the Harry Potter movies.
• The Vinnytsia Fountain is one of the largest in Ukraine and Europe. In terms of its beauty and spectacle, it resembles and in no way falls short of the fountain in Prague.
• The beauty of our nature is created to inspire and intensify romantic feelings. A vivid example is the heart-shaped lake near the village of Oleshnia in Chernihiv region. A lake of a similar shape is located in Japan.
• The Pink Lake on Arabat Spit is just as beautiful and pink as Lake Retba, which is located in Senegal.
• If you want to see endless expanses of sand, then you should go to Kherson region. Here are located Oleshky Sands, which resemble a piece of majestic Sahara.

You can keep discovering Ukraine endlessly. It always amazes in one way or another, reveals new secrets, and introduces the most remarkable stories of the past. Its beauty, rich historical heritage, variety of landmarks and remarkable corners make it one of the most beautiful countries in the world.
