Vacation in the Carpathians with Pets: Hotels, Accommodation Conditions and Travel Tips
Planning a trip to the Carpathians with a dog comes down to two questions: where you will be accommodated together and how you will spend your time after check-in. The label “pets allowed” does not yet mean that your pet can be left alone in the room, taken to the restaurant, or walked throughout the entire complex.
This selection includes seven hotels and resorts that publish information about accepting pets: from cottages near Skhidnytsia to hotels in Bukovel and complexes in Zakarpattia. We compare restrictions, extra charges and accommodation features so you can choose a place that fits your trip, your pet’s size and your family’s routines.
The conditions were checked against the official websites on 25 October 2026. This is a selection based on accommodation rules, not a ranking based on personal testing. Rates and the availability of specific rooms should be confirmed for your dates.

Carpathian hotels that accept pets: a brief comparison
First check the weight and accommodation-type restrictions. If they suit you, compare the total cost, walking areas and rules for leaving the pet without its owner.
| Hotel and location | Who they accept | Published financial terms | What is important to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| TAOR Karpaty, near Skhidnytsia | Cats and dogs up to 7 kg, with breed restrictions | 500 UAH per night | Cottages only, by prior arrangement |
| Voevodyno, Zakarpattia | Pets up to 20 kg, with restrictions; up to two in a room | 1000 UAH for cats and dogs for a period of up to 14 days | Only certain room categories; check the rate for two pets |
| Krasna Poliana Family Club Resort, Polianytsia | Rates are available for different weight categories | 1500 or 2000 UAH per stay; deposit 1000 UAH | Cottages only; strict walking restrictions |
| Respect Karpaty, Skhidnytsia | Cats; dogs up to 5 kg and up to 30 cm at the withers | 500 UAH per day | One pet in a room |
| IZKI, Izky | Dogs up to 5 kg and up to 30 cm; cats by arrangement | The extra charge needs to be clarified | Accommodation in a hotel or cottage is arranged |
| Diamond Resort Bukovel, Polianytsia | Cats and dogs up to 7 kg | The extra charge needs to be clarified | One pet in a room; prior arrangement |
| Radisson Blu Resort, Bukovel | Pet accommodation is stated | Restrictions and the extra charge need to be clarified | Ask for the rules for your pet and room category |
There is no empty rate in the table: if a hotel does not publish the amount, that does not mean free accommodation. Get written confirmation of the price before paying for the booking.
Where to stay in the Carpathians with pets
TAOR Karpaty Resort & Spa: cottage holiday near Skhidnytsia

TAOR is worth considering if you are looking for a separate cottage instead of a room in a multi-storey building. This format is convenient for a family that needs its own space, but pet accommodation is not available in all lodging options.
According to the complex’s rules, cats and small dogs up to 7 kg are accepted, except for breeds that the administration classifies as fighting dogs. The breed must be specified when booking. Guests are asked to bring veterinary documents, their own bedding or carrier, bowls and cleaning supplies. The walking area should be agreed in advance: free off-leash access is permitted inside your own cottage.

Voevodyno Resort: an option in Zakarpattia for a trip with a dog up to 20 kg

Voevodyno is worth adding to your list if your dog does not fit the common 5–7 kg limit. Official information allows pets up to 20 kg, but restrictions still apply by breed and available accommodation categories.
Up to two pets are allowed in one room. The resort asks for a veterinary passport and vaccination certificate; rules on leashes and muzzles apply when staying with a pet. Entry with animals to restaurants, SPA and baths is prohibited. The large grounds do not cancel these restrictions, so ask in advance which routes are allowed for walks.

Krasna Poliana Family Club Resort: cottages in Polianytsia with separate rates by weight
At Krasna Poliana, pets are accommodated in cottages. The website lists a one-time surcharge of 1500 UAH for the “up to 15 kg” category and 2000 UAH for “15+ kg”. If your pet’s weight is close to either category, ask for the rate to be clarified before paying.
Separate refundable deposits are charged. At the same time, the rules prohibit walking pets anywhere on the grounds or lawns of the complex, as well as leaving them unattended in accommodation or on the premises. So before booking, it is important to find out exactly where walks are allowed and how to arrange meals and SPA visits when someone has to stay with the dog.

Respect Karpaty: a stay in Skhidnytsia with a cat or small dog

For a trip to Skhidnytsia with a small pet, you can consider Respect Karpaty. The hotel rules in Ukrainian specify accommodation for dogs weighing up to 5 kg and up to 30 cm at the withers, as well as cats. Other types of animals are agreed separately.
One animal is allowed in a room. The hotel asks you to notify it in advance, bring your own mat or carrier, and comply with the requirements for veterinary documents. During cleaning, the pet must be taken out of the room. It is convenient to agree on this arrangement with reception right away, so you do not have to adjust walks at the last minute.

IZKI: a hotel or cottage in Zakarpattia by prior arrangement

The IZKI eco-resort publishes separate rules for guests with pets. Under them, it is possible to arrange a stay in a hotel or cottage with a dog up to 5 kg and up to 30 cm at the withers; staying with a cat also needs to be agreed in advance.
Veterinary documents will be required at check-in, and the owner confirms that they have read the rules. Restaurants, SPA, and bathhouses are unavailable for animals, and walking on lawns and playgrounds is prohibited. Before booking, ask which walking areas are allowed, the exact surcharge, and which accommodation categories they can offer you specifically.
Diamond Resort Bukovel: a stay in Polyanytsia with a cat or a dog up to 7 kg

Diamond Resort Bukovel states that stays with cats and small dogs up to 7 kg are possible. This is an option for those planning a holiday in the Bukovel area who are ready to agree the available building and room directly with the hotel.
The published rules provide for one animal per room, prior registration, and your own items for its care. Staying with a pet in dining areas, the SPA, and by the pools is restricted by the hotel rules. Check separately how breakfast is arranged and whether the animal may be left alone: the availability of a pet-friendly service does not automatically answer that question.
Radisson Blu Resort, Bukovel: a resort hotel with a stated pet-friendly service

The official services page for Radisson Blu Resort, Bukovel states that pets are allowed, and the details should be clarified with the hotel. This confirms that you can make an inquiry, but it does not mean that any animal will be accepted without restrictions.
Ask the management to confirm in writing the permitted weight, number of pets, room category, surcharge, and the rules for staying in public areas. This option is convenient to consider when the infrastructure of a resort hotel matters to you, and you are ready to agree the conditions for a specific dog or cat before booking.

How much does a holiday in the Carpathians with a dog cost: surcharge, deposit, and full budget
Compare more than just the room rate. The total may include a pet fee, additional cleaning, and a refundable deposit. Different hotels calculate these charges differently.
- The surcharge per night or per day increases with the length of the trip. Clarify how the hotel calculates a partial day and late check-out.
- A one-time check-in surcharge does not multiply by the number of nights within the agreed period.
- Refundable deposit — the amount you need to have at check-in. This is not a final expense if the return conditions are met. Ask when it is refunded and how possible damage is recorded.
For example, under the published conditions of Krasna Polyana, for an 8 kg dog the surcharge for one stay will be 1500 UAH, and another 1000 UAH should be set aside as a deposit. So you need to prepare 2500 UAH for these charges, of which the deposit is refundable under the complex's rules. The cottage price and meals are calculated separately.
Do not judge value by one charge alone: compare the full offer for the same dates, with the same meals and acceptable cancellation terms. If the pet is travelling for the first time, the ability to change plans is sometimes more important than the lowest rate.
How to arrange a holiday with pets without unpleasant surprises
Get confirmation before paying
Notify the hotel about the animal when you first contact them, not on the day of arrival. This is especially important for cottages and hotels where only certain rooms are allocated for such stays. Convenient message text:
Good day! We are planning to stay from [date] to [date]: [number of guests] and [species, breed, weight and number of pets]. Can you confirm accommodation in the chosen category? What is the total surcharge, is there a deposit, and what documents are required? Where are walks allowed, and can the pet be left alone in the room? Please also explain the rules for visiting the restaurant with a pet.
Keep the reply together with the booking confirmation. If you are arranging accommodation through a third-party service, the “pets allowed” filter label alone is not enough to confirm all the conditions.
Think through the day, not just the overnight stay
If the pet cannot be left in the room and cannot be taken to the restaurant, you need to decide how the family will have breakfast. Ask about a terrace that is open to guests, in-room dining, or another permitted format. Plan SPA in the same way: adults may need to visit it in turns.
For an active dog, a specific place for daily walks is important. The phrase “forest nearby” does not answer the question of access: protected areas may have their own restrictions on pets. Check the rules of the chosen park and route, seasonal closures, and the weather. For the first trip, it is better to start with short walks that are familiar in terms of effort.
What to bring for a dog and what to bring for a cat
The basic kit for a trip with a dog: usual food, bowls, a mat, a leash, an ID tag with your phone number, waste bags, and a towel for the paws. Take a carrier and a muzzle according to the pet’s needs and the rules of the hotel and carrier. Do not count on all household items being provided on site.
For a cat, a secure carrier, a familiar mat, a litter box, and the usual litter are especially important. After check-in, inspect the windows, balcony, and doors before letting the cat out of the carrier. A hotel room is a new environment, so a busy walking schedule will not necessarily be a rest for a cat.
Prepare veterinary documents according to the requirements of the specific place of stay and transport. Discuss health, vaccinations, or motion-sickness remedies with a veterinarian in advance.
If you are traveling with a large dog
Start your search with the allowed weight, not with photos of the room. Many complexes accept only small animals. The presence of a rate for a higher weight category also does not mean unlimited acceptance of all breeds and sizes.
In your inquiry, specify the exact weight and breed, the need for space, and the number of dogs. For a longer holiday, separately assess the route to the permitted walking area: daily car trips may prove inconvenient even with comfortable accommodation.
Frequently asked questions about holidays in the Carpathians with pets
Do all pet-friendly hotels accept cats?
No, the rules may differ depending on the type of animal. Even if dogs are mentioned in the description, a stay with a cat must be confirmed separately. Notify the property in advance and clarify the requirements for the litter box and cleaning.
Can a dog be left alone in the room?
Only if the rules of the specific hotel allow it. Some complexes explicitly forbid leaving the animal unattended. Confirm this before booking, especially if you plan SPA, a restaurant visit, or an excursion without your pet.
Is there free accommodation with pets?
This possibility should be checked for your dates at the specific property. The absence of a rate on the website does not confirm free accommodation. Ask for the total amount with all mandatory charges.
What is better for a holiday with a dog: a room or a cottage?
A separate cottage may offer more privacy, but it does not guarantee a private fenced yard or free walking. Compare the actual exit from the accommodation, the surroundings, the rules of the territory, and the possibility of daily walks.
Can you come with two pets?
It depends on the hotel. The selection includes complexes that allow two pets and properties that limit it to one. Confirm the number, the surcharge, and the available category before paying.
A successful holiday in the Carpathians with pets starts with accommodation whose rules suit your pet. Choose several options from the table, get a full quote for your dates, and book after confirming all the conditions. Then you will have more time on site for walks and time together.
